About.
P/F Polyplast was established in 1985. The company was founded by Justinus and Jógvan Háskor, who in 1983 began working on the idea of starting pipe production in the Faroe Islands.
In the summer of 1984, excavation and construction began at Akranesgøta 9. The building was completed and ready for use in 1985, and later that same year, production commenced.
Polyplast manufactures polyethylene pipes for water supply and cable protection for the Faroese market. The raw materials are sourced from Sweden, Finland, and Belgium. The water supply pipes are blue, while the cable protection pipes come in various colors—red, yellow, orange, green, and violet—depending on the type of cable being used.
As the years passed, the stock of pipes and fittings grew significantly, and Polyplast required larger facilities. In the autumn of 2003, the company moved into a new building at Slættanesgøta 3.
